In the Neuner leather factory in Klagenfurt a tannery was operated since 1922. The chrome, which was necessary for the tanning process, led to a contamination of the substrate. From 2021, a new city district is to be built on the 64,000 sqm area.
Heritage. A Heritage can be found in so many things. Taking these pictures I captured the heritage of the workers spending most of the time of their lives in these rooms on this machines. They will be saved for the future. It was challenging to balance the story and the structure with light and forms. You can feel the workers of the past seems to be gone just right before I went in to shoot. Keep on working!
